The original idea for Foxglove came about when I was looking at a tree outside a window with no leaves and imagined an additional branch growing from the trunk. I mixed this idea with my tea obsession, service industry experience, and theories about karma and the afterlife. My writing partner, Rebecca Quinn Robertson, and I enjoyed exploring these ideas while writing the script. We've both spent many years working in the service industry and have similar feelings about a certain type of ungrateful customer. I hope this piece allows people to be transported to this out-of-time tearoom and reflect on this fantastical representation of karma.
